Test Includes

Anti-HIV 1 and anti-HIV 2 antibodies and HIV p24 antigen

Included in routine ante-natal screen, unless HIV screening is declined

Specific Criteria

Please give detailed clinical information, including the date of onset/contact with the suspected infection

Turnaround Time

All tests will be performed on the next normal working day after receipt of the sample
Samples giving a positive test result will be sent to a Reference Laboratory for confirmation/further tests; results of these tests will usually be available 7 - 10 days after the date of the original in-house screening test
