Cardiolipin
Antibodies - Change of Reference Range / Method
|
|
The method for anti-cardiolipin
antibodies (ACA) has changed. The new method detects only higher
affinity antibodies and is expected to be more specific for anti-phosopholipid
syndrome (APS). The reference ranges have changed from the old
cut-off of 20U/L to 40U/L (positive) and 10-40U/L (weak positive).
In addition, to increase specificity, all positive ACA will have
anti-beta 2 glycoprotein 1 measured.
