Screening test for detection of IgG antibodies to Treponema pallidum

Included in the routine ante-natal screen

Combined Pathology Blood form (Yellow/Black or Blue for GP's) or
Microbiology form (Green)

Availability

On request during normal working hours

Specific Criteria

Please give detailed clinical information, including date of onset/contact with the suspected infection

Turnaround Time

All tests will be performed on the next normal working day after receipt of the sample
Samples giving a positive screening test result will be reported as such and sent to a Reference Laboratory for further tests.  Results of these tests will usually be available 7 - 10 days after the date of the original in-house screening test
